Earlier this month the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published Apple's trademark application for Ceramic Shield. In addition, the Hong Kong IP Office granted Apple a series of design patents covering the MagSafe Duo Charger.

Ceramic Shield

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published Apple's trademark application for Ceramic Shield earlier this month. The partial application is presented below. Apple filed their trademark under International Class 009 covering: "display screens for computers, mobile telephones and mobile electronic devices; covers for computers, mobile telephones and mobile digital electronic devices."

Apple's priority filing was made in Jamaica application number 81375.

Last week Apple posted a new Ceramic Shield ad titled "Fumble" as presented below.

It would have been more impressive if the iPhone would have landed hard on the curb or street rather than on softer dirt.

Design Patent: MagSafe Duo Charger

Unlike "patent applications" that provide the public with an abstract, summary and details of an invention, design patents published around the world are limited to only providing the public with design patent figures. No additional specifics of the design are made available.

Apple filed their MagSafe Duo Charger design patent under Locarno Class 13.02 covering "'Power transformers, rectifiers and batteries."

The images above cover registered trademark number 2017361. 7M001 that represents the entire device. The remaining six designs (.6M002 to .6M007) below are partial design wins covering specific parts of the whole. In this Way Apple could prove that every aspect of their design is specifically protected from copy cats.
