Apple has been granted a series of eight design patents in Hong Kong covering the U.S. version of the iPhone 12 Pro with its mmWave antenna window which is shown in our cover graphic above that came from a Macworld article. In total Apple filed 8 design patents that were each filed with 6 images per design for a total of 48 images.

Unlike "patent applications" that provide the public with an abstract, summary and details of an invention, design patents published around the world are limited to only providing the public with design patent figures. No additional specifics of the design are made available.

This is juxtaposed to an example of an Apple design patent that is seeking to patent just a single part of the whole design. In total there are eight U.S. iPhone 12 Pro related design patents that were granted and numbered 2016200.6M001 through to .6M008. Below is just a sample, illustrating .6M001 to 6M003. It would be far too time consuming to post details of all eight in the group.

Locarno Classifications

The Locarno Classification, established by the Locarno Agreement (1968), is an international classification used for the purposes of the registration of industrial designs.  The current edition of the Classification is published online.
