Apple Files for new Figurative Trademarks in the U.S., Hong Kong and Europe related to Apple Watch and Health
Apple filed for trademarks this week in the U.S., Hong Kong China and Europe via London. The figurative trademarks presented in our report relate to one of the latest Apple Watch apps while the other relates to their research app.
Apple's Figurative Trademark Applications in Europe

For the Research App, Apple filed it under two International Classes in Europe being 009 and 042. 009: "Computer software used in connection with health and medical research studies." 042: "Design and development of computer hardware, software; computer hardware and software consulting services; computer programming; cloud computing services; providing an Internet portal allowing users to preview and download electronic books, publications, and other documents; scientific and technological services," and more. Apple also filed their "Compass App" trademark under the same International Class 009.

Apple also filed for the Apple Watch Compass App's figurative trademark in Hong Kong, China, under application number 305216085.
Apple filed for the figurative trademark relating to their Research App in the U.S. under USPTO number 88827349. Apple filed it under International Class 009 which covers the following: "Computer software used in connection with health and medical research studies." Apple supplied a jumbo graphic for their Research App icon as presented below.

Apple linked to this webpage as their "Specimen" of use on their U.S. only application. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office defines a 'specimen of use' as being an example of how a company is actually using their trademark in the marketplace with the goods or services in their application.
