Apple Wins Apple Watch Patent Supporting Face ID and Special Sports Oriented Sensors
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially published a series of 52 newly granted patents for Apple Inc. today. In this particular report we cover Apple's granted patent for a possible future Apple Watch supporting Face ID and more.
Back in March 2018 Patently Apple posted a patent application report titled "Apple Patent Points to Face ID coming to Apple Watch along with Band Sensors to Analyze Sports Performance and more." Apple has now been granted this patent.
Apple's granted patent FIG. 7A presented below illustrates a perspective view of an Apple Watch having a band that can include capacitive and EMG sensors; FIG. 7B illustrates an Apple Watch band that can include capacitive and sensors and a plurality of elastic sections.
The patent covers futuristic features for the Body of Apple Watch and a Band being able to support Face ID, hydration detection, axial orientation of the wrist for sports performance and more.
