Patently Apple posted a legal report on January 21, 2018 titled "Apple hit with Class Action over Meltdown and Spectre Security Flaws built into all ARM-based iDevices" The Plaintiffs Anthony Bartling and Jacqueline Olson had filed a class action lawsuit against Apple over their customized ARM processors used in Apple's iDevices having security flaws related to Meltdown and Spectre . The Class Action was filed in San Jose, California. On Wednesday the San Jose Court dismissed the case against Apple.


The Court noted that "Presently before the court is Defendant’s motion to dismiss all claims alleged in Plaintiffs’ Consolidated Amended Complaint (“CAC”) for lack of standing and failure to state a claim. Dkt. No. 46. Having reviewed the parties’ papers and having considered the arguments of counsel, the court will GRANT Defendant’s motion."
