Back in February Patently Apple posted a report titled "HP now Offers Apple Devices to Enterprise Clients as a Subscription Service." The report noted that under Apple's late CEO and Co-Founder Steve Jobs, the company was deadly focused on the consumer side of the market. Unless you've been living under a rock, Apple's current CEO has been steadily moving the company deeper into the enterprise market with partners like IBM, Cisco, SAP, Deloitte, GE, Accenture and others." In February HP announced that they expanded their Device as a Service to include Apple devices including the Mac, iPad and iPhone. That was obviously the initial phase of Apple partnering with HP and we're learning today that phase two of this partnership will include a B2B alliance.
Earlier today The Register out of the UK reported on the news UK's by pointing out a jobs posting that was made in June titled: Enterprise Strategic Partner Manager – HPE, Dimension Data & GE. Although it's not been officially announced like previous partnerships, the ad in the UK makes it clear that a future manager having experience with HPE is a priority.
The Register further reported that "Apple's B2B division in the UK and Ireland is run by enterprise director Matt Key. The new hire will report to him. He has been in situ for less than a year.
It is not clear which HPE products Apple wants to use but will likely include the Aruba edge kit." Read the full report for more on this story.
