Patently Apple posted a report in December pointing out Apple's string of software glitches and the delayed HomePod with Phil Schiller being unapologetic. Then the year started off on a bad note with a string of class actions over purposely slowing iPhones. Apple's CEO was insincerely unapologetic in an interview with ABC News when he began by blaming iPhones users for not paying attention to the battery policy update that 99% of customers never even heard of, hence the lawsuits.

Apple's troubles are mounting and internally executives are putting the stop to certain new features scheduled for this year and rescheduling them for 2019. A new Axios report today states that executives have decided to delay some key features originally planned for this fall's update. Specifically, Axios reports that "Software head Craig Federighi announced the revised plan to employees at a meeting earlier this month, shortly before he and some top lieutenants headed to a company offsite."

On the cutting board for this year is a redesigned Home Screen for iDevices, a redesign of CarPlay along with improvements to mail, photo editing and more.

While a renewed focus on quality and performance might ease some outside criticism, some inside the team question whether the approach will actual lead to higher quality. Plus, customers tend to pay for features more than security and reliability, which are tough to assess at the time of purchase.

Axios writer Ina Fried noted that "While a renewed focus on quality and performance might ease some outside criticism, some inside the team question whether the approach will actual lead to higher quality. Plus, customers tend to pay for features more than security and reliability, which are tough to assess at the time of purchase."

Last week Patently Apple posted a report titled "A Previews of iOS 11.3 reveals new Features like a Battery Health Setting, more AR Experiences, Business Chat & more." It still appears that these are the updates that will make to market this year.
