An Apple Team is going to India to Scout for Top Talented Students with Experience in AI and Machine Learning
Last month Patently Apple posted a report titled "Apple Publishes another Issue in their Machine Learning Journal in a PR War with Google & Others for Next-Gen Developers." Every major developer event by Apple, Google and Microsoft this year has pushed AI and Machine Learning. We briefly touched on Microsoft's event in London last week where one of their slides made it clear what they were focusing their keynote to developers on as noted in the Microsoft slide below: Mixed Reality, AI and Machine Learning.
It's being report today that Apple will be visiting institutes in India to scout for technology students. Apple along with other U.S. tech giants like Microsoft, Google and Philips, to name a few, have registered with International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH).
Apple's entry has made students and teachers happy. "We are elated that Apple has decided to come for our campus placements this year. We are not sure of the kind of profiles that the company will be offering. However, it will provide an opportunity to the graduating students to showcase their skills before representatives of the firm," a report in The Times of India quoted T V Devi Prasad, head of placements at IIITH.
Prasad added that most probably the placements will be for Apple's Hyderabad or Bengaluru facility. Nearly 350 students of the institute have already registered with the placement cell for the drive which will begin in December.
According to officials, there is a huge demand for artificial intelligence (AI), data science, automation and deep learning this season. The companies are looking for students who are adept at Python programming language. Majority of the offers are for product development and research and development profiles, informed Prasad.
According to him, there is also high demand for hardware engineers with knowledge in the application-specific integrated circuit and design verification and 2D-3D graphic in mobile communication.
