On April 03 Patently Apple posted a report titled "News of Apple Ending their Contract with Imagination Technologies in 2018 Sends Shares Plunging." The report noted that Imagination believed that it would be extremely challenging to design a brand new GPU architecture from basics without infringing on its intellectual property rights." Today we're learning that Imagination Technologies has started a "dispute resolution procedure" with Apple, its biggest customer, after failing to resolve a standoff over licensing between the two companies.

On April 19 Patentl Apple posted a report titled "Imagination is Reportedly set to lower Apple's Royalty Rate to One-Third." Although they were set, obviously Apple wasn't.

Reuters reports that "Imagination said yesterday that it had been unable to make satisfactory progress with Apple on an alternative commercial arrangements for the current license and royalty agreement.

Imagination has therefore commenced the dispute resolution procedure under the license agreement with a view to reaching an agreement through a more structured process."
