On paper, Samsung has been a pioneer in patenting a great number of future scrollable devices based on flexible OLED displays for smartphones, mobile TVs, home televisions and more (one, two, three, four and five). Today the US Patent & Trademark Office granted Apple patent 9,625,948 that covers their first scrollable iDevice that they note could be an iPhone (cellular phone, iPad (tablet), iPod (media player and beyond. Patently Apple only posted this invention as a patent application back in March under the title "Apple Enters Race with Samsung in Developing a Next Generation Scrollable Smartphone."
