Apple has filed for two figurative trademarks for the number '8' in Hong Kong today. They were originally filed in Jamaica in July. One of the trademark filings was filed under International Class 9 which covers everything under the sun as noted further in our report. In the second filing, Apple filed their trademark under International Class 45 which covers the following specifics: (A) "Personal concierge services for others comprising making requested personal arrangements and reservations and providing customer-specific information to meet individual needs, rendered online; online social networking services; providing a social networking website for entertainment purposes; (B) personal and social services rendered by others to meet the needs of individuals; providing social networking services; providing concierge services." Apple provided no other information regarding this figurative trademark in their filing. However, the graphic below illustrates the application of the icon is in context with the Apple Watch activity app for activity sharing as in two buddies challenging each other in a competition.
