Former Tesla / Aston Martin VP Joins Apple's Project Titan Team
Yesterday we posted a report titled "A Small Secret Project Titan Team Found in Germany is preparing for Possible Production in 2020" While that was definitely interesting news, today we find out via the Electrek website, in collaboration with their sister-site 9to5Mac, that Apple has hired former Tesla Vice President of Vehicle Engineering and former Aston Martin Chief Engineer, Chris Porritt, to work on 'special projects,' where Apple's Titan car project lives. Obviously Apple is bringing in a heavy weight VP who understands design. While at Aston Martin, Electrek notes that Porritt was credited with making some of the company's most iconic vehicles in recent years, including the One-77 supercar, V12 Zagato and Aston Martin DB9 as noted in our cover graphic. The report further noted that Jony Ive, Apple's Chief Design Officer, is known to have a weak spot for Aston Martin and he reportedly owned a few of their models. I'm sure the two will have a lot to talk about. You could read more about this story over at Electrek.
