With Microsoft launching their First Notebook Today could a Desktop be next?
Today, Microsoft surprised the world with their first Notebook which happened to be a unique hybrid 2-in-1 notebook-tablet. While the notebook is being aimed at challenging Apple's MacBook Pro, it could very well appeal to pro Google Chromebook fans as well. With Microsoft entering the notebook market, can the desktop be their next frontier? Well, one thing is for sure, the U.S. patent office granted Microsoft a patent today for a desktop with an advanced transparent display that could allow users to interact with virtual 3D elements like a stack of files and beyond.
How it could Work
Our Patently Mobile IP blog first covered this invention back in April 2014. Review our past report for more details and graphics. Microsoft's granted patent was originally filed in October 2012. The timing of such a device is unknown at this time.
