The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially published a series of 36 newly granted patents for Apple Inc. today. In this particular report we cover Apple's second granted patent for magnetic stands. Patently Apple covered Apple's original 2013 patent application in a report titled "Apple Invents Advanced iPad Magnetics System for Dual iPad Notebook, Tripod Stands, Gaming Controller & Much More." Apple's first granted patent for this invention was issued in 2014 and it was here where Apple's first hybrid notebook idea presented.
After the release of the iPad cover, Jony Ive and his team decided to patent ideas relating to their magnets invention that could address future markets for the auto industry, for connecting to iPads together for a book-like combination, a music stand, a game controller attachment and one for exercise equipment.
