Late yesterday the Hong Kong Patent Office published a huge series of design patents granted to Apple regarding Apple Watch. The second report in this series specifically covers Apple Watch with its Classic Buckle band in 6 jumbo photos.
Unlike "patent applications," design patents published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and/or any other Patent Office, don't reveal pertinent information about a particular design. All we are given is a series of simple photos and/or line-art graphics of what was actually registered.
Apple Watch with Classic Buckle Band Design Patent
The Hong Kong Patent Office granted Apple design patent number 1500606.3 for the specific design relating to the Apple Watch with Classic Buckle band. Apple tells us that a small French tannery established in 1803 produces the supple Granada leather for this elegant band. The smooth top-grain leather is lightly milled and tumbled to maintain its refined texture. What looks like a solid buckle is actually a two-piece magnetic closure that's delightfully simple to secure.
