At the beginning of the month we reported that the iPhone supply chain had started delivering parts and components to the two iPhone OEMs Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron for production of next generation iPhone devices. Today it's specifically being revealed that touch panel suppliers are stepping up their production.

It's being report today that Apple's touch panel supply chain for the next iPhone 6S have stepped up shipments with volume expected to reach 36-40 million in the third quarter and 50 million in the fourth quarter. This volume matches what we reported on back on July 8.

The supply chains started shipping Force Touch modules in small amounts for the new iPhone in June, and began ramping up the shipments this month. TPK recently noted it was heading into mass production for Force Touch technology in July.

The sources added they estimate iPhone shipments in 2015 will reach 230 million.
