Fearing Apple's New iPhone Models, Samsung Confirms Earlier than Expected Launch of Note 5 on August 13
We reported last week that the rumor was that Samsung was going to debut their new Note 5 on August 12 and Samsung has now confirmed to the Korean Press that the official date for their launch is now set for August 13th in New York.
The Korean report noted that "It is said that Samsung has moved up the launch of the Note 5 from the traditional September release to take on California-based Apple's new iPhone, expected to be unveiled in September. Apple dealt a blow to Samsung when it rolled out its iPhone 6 and 6 Plus a week ahead of the introduction of Samsung's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in September last year."
As if that one week would have mattered to Samsung sales over the iPhone 6. But they're out to get ahead of Apple's next iPhones no matter what and we'll just have to see if launching them earlier will matter in the end.
