On June 24, 2015, the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office published Apple's latest registered trademarks for "Wallet" icon and "Yosemite" which were granted late yesterday. The icon now represents Apple's "Wallet" icon that was formerly known as "Passbook." Apple Wallet (or simply Wallet) is an application in Apple's iOS (branded as Passbook in iOS 6–8) that allows users to store coupons, boarding passes, event tickets, store cards and, starting with iOS 8.1, credit cards, loyalty cards, and debit cards via Apple Pay.

Apple's registered trademark was filed under International Class 09 with the specific verbiage as follows: "computer software for organizing, storing, providing access to, redeeming, scanning, sharing, and providing information about goods, services, discounts, tickets, boarding passes, coupons, consumer loyalty programs, and gift cards concerning a wide range of consumer products, services, and cultural, sporting and entertainment events; computer software for promoting the goods, services and providing information of others over a global communications network in any format, namely, handheld digital mobile communications devices; computer software for downloading and storing vouchers and tickets for admission to sporting, cultural and entertainment events; data synchronization software; computer software for capturing, managing, and storing credit card and debit card information; computer software to facilitate electronic payments through the use of biometric technology.
Yosemite is now a Registered Trademark
Also noted today at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is that Apple's OS X "Yosemite" is now a Registered Trademark (RTM) under number 4,761,117. Apple will replace Yosemite with "El Capitan" in Q4 2015.
