Apple Files Update to "iPhone" Trademark with U.S. Trademark Office
On January 17, 2015, the US Patent & Trademark Office published Apple's latest trademark filing for "iPhone" which was filed late yesterday. Although Apple's "iPhone" is already a Registered Trademark, they're now technically seeking to file "iPhone" under a new International Class for specific added protection.
Apple's Trademark Application In-Part for "iPhone"
Apple was issued a Registered Trademark for iPhone back on February 9, 2010. The original Registered Trademark was covered by International Classes 9, 28 and 38.
Apple's latest iPhone trademark application shows that they're seeking to have "iPhone" protected by new International Class 037 which covers all manner of iPhone "service" matters as specifically noted in their filing as noted below:
"Installation, maintenance, repair, servicing, and updating of consumer electronic devices, digital audio and video players, handheld computers, personal digital assistants, electronic organizers and electronic notepads; providing technical support services regarding the usage of consumer electronic devices and accessories therefor; technical support services, namely, troubleshooting in the nature of repair of computer hardware and electronics problems; information relating to installation, maintenance, repair, servicing and updating of computers."

Apple officially provided the U.S. Patent and Trademark office with a PDF of a page of their website specifically related to iPhone service as a supplement to their filing. It's Apple who points to two areas of their "iPhone Support" website page using red arrows and not an additon made by Patently Apple.
