Apple's iPhone 6 is Dominating Japan's Smartphone Sales, Again
Apple fans in Japan love the iPhone 6: Today it's being that Apple's iPhone is dominating Japan's smartphone sales once again.
According to a new report by Forbes' Chuck Jones, "For the month of October the iPhone 6 held 7 of the top 8 smartphone positions and 9 of the top 14. This was after it had 7 of the top 9 positions in September. While there aren't any sales figures to go along with this data it does indicate the strength of the iPhone in Japan."
Jones added that "Lee Seung-woo, an analyst with IBK Securities in Seoul, believes that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus could outsell Samsung's Galaxy S5 and Note 4 by five to one in the December quarter."
That echoes the enthusiastic take of South Korea's Kim Young-chan, an analyst from Shinhan Investment who stated in October that "iPhones will outsell the Galaxy Note 4 by tenfold, with 80 million units shipped worldwide in the October-December period."
While only time will tell if Apple's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus actually outsold Samsung's Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note by 5 or 10 times, the point is clear that it's looking like it's going to be a shellacking no matter how the numbers eventually come down.
