News out of Taiwan today notes that Casetek Holdings, a chassis making subsidiary of Pegatron Technology, has announced revenues of US$108.22 million for September 2014, up 21.25% on month and 16.48% on year. The revenue growth was mainly due to shipments for Apple's upcoming next-generation iPad, which is expected to be introduced tomorrow. The new iPad Plus, Apple's next entry into the iPad family is due sometime in early 2015.
Since the new iPad is expected to see strong demand, market watchers expect Casetek's revenue performance in the fourth quarter to increase significantly.
To satisfy Apple's new iPad orders and gain advantages to help land orders from Apple, Casetek has been purchasing CNC machines since early 2014 and purchased 500 units recently. After finishing installation at the end of 2014 or in early 2015, the company will have a total of about 7,000 CNC machines.
In addition to iPad and MacBook products, the market watchers believe that if Casetek is able to enter the iPhone supply chain, the maker could achieve a revenue surge in 2015.
In other Apple supplier news, power supply maker and energy management solution provider Delta Electronics which has the exclusive supplier contract with Apple for mini chokes that are used in the iPhone 6/6 Plus, are expected to see increased shipments of the product in the fourth quarter due to booming iPhone sales. Delta uses a production line specifically for the mini choke, with the capacity enough to meet demand arising from booming iPhone 6/6 Plus sales
