A hearing on GT Advanced Technologies bid to shut down its synthetic-sapphire operations while keeping many details of its bankruptcy under wraps was pushed to October 21 or one day after Apple's financial conference Call scheduled for October 20. That's interesting timing.

GT Advanced, Apple and a newly formed official committee of unsecured creditors consented to the delay, according to papers filed today in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manchester, New Hampshire, reports Bloomberg.

Bloomberg added that Judge Boroff questioned the need to grant Apple's motion to seal documents in the ongoing GT Advanced bankruptcy proceedings by stating that "I've got a foot-high stack of documents, and it can't be that it all must be sealed."
