Apple may Introduce Improvements to Touch ID

10A News - Rumor
Over the Labor Day weekend we learned that Apple had signed an iWallet Deal with American Express, MasterCard and Visa that could lead to the iPhone 6 introducing their long awaited iWallet application that could eventually work with Apple's iWatch or wristband computer. The introduction of an iWallet related application may lead to Apple updating their Touch ID technology. In fact, such a hint surfaced yesterday.

In a DigiTimes report posted yesterday covering supply chain contacts, they noted that "Touch panel makers TPK and GIS are among some of the makers receiving orders from Apple for full-lamination units. Sources said the new model will remain unchanged in terms of size and resolution, but that it will be thinner, equipped with an enhanced processor, and contain improved fingerprint recognition features." There were no details as to what improvements could be introduced.

In August a new Touch ID related patent came to light regarding improvements to this security feature involving new boost circuits, such as inductive boost circuits, to improve the fingerprint sensor. A secondary patent covered Touch ID coming to the iPad along with the idea of a possible external accessory.
