Apple Gains new Mobile Carrier in S. Korea to sell the iPhone 6

10. News
Korea's third largest mobile carrier LG Uplus Corp is now on track to start selling Apple's latest new iPhone 6. This is the first time that LG Uplus will be selling Apple's iPhone. Apple gains a new partner and avenue to take on Samsung in Korea.

LG Uplus had been excluded from sales of Apple products, as previous iPhones did not support the Voice over Long Term Evolution network (VoLTE), which the mobile carrier mainly relies on.

SK and KT, on the other hand, used the third-generation Universal Mobile Telecommunications System to support previous iPhones. LG only focused on the VoLTE in hopes that Apple's new product would support the latest network. Apple introduced support for VoLTE during the introduction of the iPhone 6 on Tuesday as noted in our graphic below.
