Apple Design Wins: Animation GUI for iPhone & LED Cinema Display

On February 9, 2010, the US Patent & Trademark Office published two of Apple's latest Design Wins covering an animated GUI for a portable device and Apple's second design win for the LED Cinema Display.

 

Industrial Design Wins: Animated GUI for a Handheld

  

Apple has been granted a design patent for what appears to be Cover Flow on an iPhone. The technical design title is noted below, for accuracy.

The appearance of the image transitions sequentially between the images shown in FIGS. 1-3.

 

Apple credits Imran Chaudhri as the sole designer of granted patent D609,715 for "Animated graphical user interface for a display screen or portion thereof", originally filed in Q2 2007.

 

Apple has also won a second granted patent for their LED Cinema Display under D609,705, originally filed in Q2 2009. Patently Apple recorded Apple's first granted patent for this display in September 2009.
