It's rumored that Google will hold their new Pixel Phone and Watch event in mid-August to get ahead of Apple’s September iPhone event
According to a number of Android leakers, Google is set to unveil its next-generation Pixel devices at a Made by Google event on August 13, with the Pixel 10 lineup expected to hit stores just a week later on August 20. Two leakers point to an August 25 event.
Simplifying its lineup, Google is expected to launch four Pixel models this year as well — the standard Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The Pixel Watch 4 is also likely to make its debut at the same event.
The timing of the event would mark the second consecutive year that Google will launch its flagship smartphones before the latest iPhone models released in September of each year.
Details about the new Pixel lineup have already begun to surface. The base Pixel 10 model is expected to receive a notable upgrade — a third camera lens with telephoto capabilities — though reports suggest there may be tradeoffs in image quality to accommodate the added hardware.
The Pixel 10 is rumored to switch to a MediaTek T900 modem instead of the usual Exynos solution.
Meanwhile, the Pro models and the Fold are said to retain similar camera specs and designs as their predecessors, and will be powered by Google’s new Tensor G5 chipset to drive performance and AI features based on TSMC’s 3nm process.
Google is doubling down on integrating AI in everyday use. Pixel 10’s software experience will likely build on Gemini Nano, Pixel-exclusive machine learning tools, and Android 16’s new frameworks. Anticipated features include:
- Pixel Sense: A smarter assistant that reads context to offer suggestions, summaries, or actions
- Speak-to-Tweak: Adjust photos by voice—like “make this brighter” or “blur background”
- Sketch-to-Image: Turn rough doodles into usable graphics using generative models
- Video Generative ML: A new editing tool that may offer AI-powered scene suggestions or transitions
- 30% faster boot times (thanks to optimizations hinted in Android AOSP commits)
The Pixel Watch 4 is also expected to see changes. Leaked renders indicate a thicker body, which may hint at a larger battery. The wearable is rumored to feature revamped charging tech, additional side buttons, and most notably, the integration of Google’s Gemini AI assistant.
One Indian Android site claims that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold may sell for $1,599 which would be a $200 drop from its previous foldable.
If Google continues to drop the price or their Pixel fold in 2026, it will put a lot of pressure on Apple. The rumored price for Apple’s first foldable iPhone is over $2,000. So 2026 could be a very interesting smartphone year for foldables.
