On Monday May 19, Huawei will get ahead of Apple by introducing their first Foldable Tablet PC
Meta got ahead of Apple on AI glasses and Samsung introduced their Galaxy S25 Slim model ahead of Apple’s iPhone 17 Air. Now Huawei wants to get ahead of Apple’s future foldable iPad. On Monday May 19 at their Tech Carnival & Partner Summit 2025 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Huawei will reportedly introduce an all-new foldable computer (tablet) that will be aimed at high-end consumers.
The blogger digital chatting station revealed that Huawei's folding PC has a whole foldable large screen, built-in large-area linear motor, which can simulate keyboard typing, equipped with a new Hongmeng computer operating system, built-in self-developed Kirin X90 chip, and the product definition is far ahead.

From the configuration point of view, unlike other folding screen products, Huawei's folding PC is equipped with the HarmonyOS computer operating system for the first time, completely using its own "kernel", and no longer relying on the open source code of other operating systems in the development process, bringing a refined, intelligent, safe, smooth, and interconnected experience.
With the new Kirin X90, Huawei is making a real leap in homegrown PC processors, following steady progress on the mobile front with the Kirin 9000S and 9020.
In March 2021, Patently Apple posted an IP report titled “Apple Finally Reveals that one of their Foldable Display Patents is now Focused on being a Foldable Laptop.” Of course that could also mean an iPad folding into a laptop configuration. Four years later we posted a rumor report titled “Apple's First Foldable Device with an 18.8 inch Display could be a MacBook-Related Device running macOS.” It’s rumored to hit the market in between late 2026 and mid-2027.
