A new Gurman Rumor report provides a Peek at a Few Key Devices that Apple may introduce by 2027
This morning Bloomberg’s M. Gurman posted a report that neatly provided an overview of what Apple has in store for Apple plans over the next 2 or 3 years. Gurman notes that Apple plans to launch a series of exciting new products which he described as a "product renaissance.” Below are the three main device categories:
Apple’s First Foldable iPhone+
The prelude to this product renaissance will be opened by Apple's first foldable iPhone , which is expected to be released together with the iPhone 18 series at the end of 2026. Compared with other foldable phones such as Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Apple's foldable iPhone will have a series of unique features such as a "crease-free display" and a durable titanium frame, but its pricing will also be at a high-end level. Much of this and more was covered by Ming-Chi Kuo in March.
After the foldable iPhone, Apple will also launch a 20th anniversary iPhone. Although the details about this phone are still limited, Gurman revealed that it will be an iPhone made almost entirely of glass, with a curved design and no bangs or openings on the display.
While Apple has a few patents on iPhone primarily made of glass, the most resent patent on an iPhone with a display front and back was published last month
Robot Products
According to Gurman, Apple is also developing new robotics products that are expected to debut in 2027. This robotics product will rely on the launch of the much smaller Apple smart home hub, which was originally scheduled to be released this year but has been delayed several times. Gurman described this robotics product as a desktop device equipped with a robotic arm and will have an AI assistant with "personality."
New AI Hardware Products
In addition to the iPhone line update, Apple also plans to launch several new hardware categories that will take advantage of Apple Intelligence technology. First, Apple plans to launch a product to compete with Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses in 2027. The glasses will be equipped with cameras, speakers, and microphones to sense the surrounding environment, and will also incorporate features similar to the iPhone's visual intelligence.
In the field of artificial intelligence, Apple also plans to launch new AirPods and Apple Watches equipped with cameras to further expand the application scope of visual intelligence technology.
