Samsung to be the exclusive Supplier for Apple’s first Foldable Display and a famed Weibo leaker reveals a key Face Camera feature
A new Fast Technology report from China claims that the development of Apple's first foldable iPhone is accelerating and is expected to meet consumers as early as 2026. Further, Apple has decided to use OLED panels from South Korea's Samsung Display, and this time it will focus on a single supplier to ensure that screen quality is the top priority.
Samsung Display will be responsible for supplying OLED panels, and deliveries are expected to begin at the end of this year or early next year.
Normally, Apple products adopt a multi-supplier strategy to reduce dependence on a single supplier and gain greater bargaining power on price. However, this time Apple chose Samsung as the exclusive supplier of foldable iPhone panels.
Industry insiders pointed out that this is because Samsung has accumulated six years of experience in the field of foldable OLED panels since the launch of Galaxy Fold in 2019, and its technological advantages are obvious, making it difficult for other competitors such as LG Display to grab orders.
In addition, famed Weibo leaker “Digital Chat Station” posted a new interesting leak on Apple’s foldable display as presented below from Weibo.
