It was announced back in April 2024 that Apple TV+ and "For All Mankind" creators Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi are expanding the "For All Mankind" universe with a brand-new spinoff series, "Star City."

Today we're learning that BAFTA Award-winner Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland) is joining the cast of Star City as a lead opposite Rhys Ifans.

Created by Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert and Ronald D. Moore, Star City is another alt-history retelling of the space race – when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. But this time, we explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers, and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humanity forward.

English actress Martin will play Lyudmilla, the head of the KGB surveillance department at Star City. Ifans stars as the Chief Designer. For more on this, read the full Deadline report.
