A Quick Look at Global Smartphone Standings for Q3-2024 shows Apple solidly in second place while China's Huawei is nowhere to be seen
With all the noise about Apple dropping China, Counterpoint has posted their Q3 2024 Market Monitor report that clearly shows that Apple was in second place globally with Huawei nowhere to be seen. Below are some quick observations on the smartphone market for Q3:
- Global smartphone shipments increased by 2% YoY in Q3 2024.
- Global smartphone revenues rose 10% YoY, driven by a 7% increase in ASP. Both revenue and ASP hit their highest levels ever for Q3.
- Samsung retained the top position globally with a 19% volume share.
- Apple led in terms of revenues and recorded its highest-ever shipments, revenues and ASPs for a third quarter (calendar year).
- Xiaomi came in third with its revenue growth outpacing its shipments growth. OPPO took the #4 spot.
