Verizon has commercialized its first AI Network with NVIDIA to advance services such as video streaming, XR/VR, Robots, IoT and more
It was reported late yesterday that Verizon has commercialized its first artificial intelligence (AI) network with NVIDIA. It is expected to become the starting point of an innovative infrastructure that will speed up the execution of AI services and enable various AI services. NVIDIA's entry into the communications sector is also expected to accelerate, according the ETNews.
Verizon announced that it will introduce a network solution that combines the NVIDIA AI enterprise software platform with its 5G private network solution in February.
The AI-based 5G platform is designed to help developers create new applications and services at a faster pace. It features a modular design that supports various use cases or expansion of functions for users and allows companies to expand the platform as needed. It is a platform that increases the transmission speed of AI apps in the network section close to users (edge) by installing an AI software (SW) platform and hardware (HW) such as GPUs in the base station and creates various use cases.
It is described as suitable for compute-intensive apps such as generative AI-based large-scale language models and vision language models, as well as innovative services such as video streaming, broadcast management, computer vision, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), extended reality (XR), the Internet of Things (IoT), self-driving cars, and robots.
Verizon 5G private network also supports network slicing, enabling the implementation of network services such as ultra-low latency and high capacity optimized for each service.
