In Q2-2024, Apple had four iPhones in the global top 10 smartphones. A new analytical report this morning published the global top 10 smartphones for Q3-24 and once again Apple scored four of the top 10 again with the top three spots being the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Pro. We'll have to wait until Q4-24 to see the iPhone 16 enter the top 10.

Counterpoint Research stated that Apple led the list with the iPhone 15, which captured a 3% share of the overall smartphone market, followed by the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max closed the gap with the iPhone 15 compared to a year back as consumers opted for a better camera and display facilitated by easier financing and trade-ins.

Samsung alone captured five spots in the list, with the Galaxy-S series returning to the top 10 in the September quarter first time after 2018. Continued marketing around the GenAI capabilities helped sustain the demand.

Xiaomi’s Redmi 13C maintained a spot in the top-10 list for the second consecutive quarter, replicating the success of its predecessor Redmi 12C.
