Apple TV+ has Released two Trailers covering Season-2 of the Psychological Thriller 'Surface' and the docuseries 'The Secret Lives of Animals'
Today, Apple TV+ unveiled a first look at the second season of the globally acclaimed psychological thriller “Surface,” starring and executive produced by Gugu Mbatha-Raw and created by Veronica West. Set in a whole new world, Sophie (Mbatha-Raw) continues her mission to find answers in her hometown of London.
The second chapter of “Surface” follows Sophie to London to unravel the secrets of her past. Having suffered an injury that robbed her of her memories, Sophie follows the few clues she has, using her vast stolen resources to embed herself in elite British society and discovering a possible connection to a beautiful heiress. But everything changes when a journalist contacts her out of the blue, and Sophie realizes they were working together to expose a shocking scandal about the dangerous people she’s now become close to.
The eight-episode second season premieres globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, February 21, 2025, followed by new episodes every Friday. For those who prefer to Binge-Watch a series in its entirety so as to keep the action and storyline intact instead of painfully waiting for weekly episodes like cable TV, Apple confirms that the full series will be available to subscribers on April 11, 2025.
In addition to Mbatha-Raw, returning cast members Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Millie Brady are joined by new stars Phil Dunster, Gavin Drea, Rupert Graves, Tara Fitzgerald, Nina Sosanya, Joely Richardson and Freida Pinto.
Hailing from Apple Studios, “Surface” was created by West, who serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner, and is produced by Hello Sunshine. Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive produce on behalf of Hello Sunshine, and Mbatha-Raw stars and executive produces. Season two directors include Ed Lilly, Jon East, Lynsey Miller and Alrick Riley.
Following the series’ global debut on Apple TV+, “Surface” was hailed as “captivating,” “twisty and juicy,” and a “sexy, elevated thriller.”
Apple TV+ unveils trailer for the stunning nature docuseries “The Secret Lives of Animals,”
Today, Apple TV+ revealed the trailer for the new 10-part docuseries “The Secret Lives of Animals,” set to premiere globally on December 18. Narrated by SAG Award winner Hugh Bonneville (“Paddington,” “Downton Abbey”), “The Secret Lives of Animals” highlights 77 unique species in 24 countries over three years, revealing stunning, never-before-seen animal behaviors and highlighting the remarkable intelligence of the natural world. Hailing from the acclaimed BBC Studios Natural History Unit, the series will debut globally on December 18 on Apple TV+.
“The Secret Lives of Animals” utilizes cutting-edge technology to showcase new and remarkable animal behaviors. For the first time, “The Secret Lives of Animals” captures the sounds and vibrations of a unique jumping spider courtship dance, a killifish in Trinidad breathing through its tail when out of the water, and a wood mouse marking its territory with signposts. Witness a rarely seen relationship between a frog and a tarantula, a land lizard that can breathe underwater, and a monkey that uses a bizarre nose-poking ritual as a test of friendship. Each episode focuses on specific behaviors that are pivotal in the life cycles of various animals — from birth and leaving home to raising a family, and from finding food to growing old — highlighting their striking intelligence and adaptability.
“The Secret Lives of Animals” is produced for Apple TV+ by BBC Studios Natural History Unit, with Matt Brandon (“Planet Earth III”) serving as showrunner and Roger Webb (“Mammals,” “Big Cats 24/7”) serving as executive producer. The series marks the third collaboration between the BBC Studios Natural History Unit and Apple TV+, following the hit Emmy Award-nominated series “Prehistoric Planet” and “The Year Earth Changed.”
