A new Reports supports the ongoing rumors of Apple making AirPods in India next Year

1

In July there was a rumor that Apple is also making efforts to increase the production of components for AirPods wireless charging cases through Jabil in India. The company reportedly plans to start production of true wireless stereo (TWS) AirPods, in India from early next year.

Apple had initiated trial production of components for wireless charging cases in Pune with Jabil and is considering a similar arrangement with Taiwan’s Foxconn.

Today we're learning that Apple is set to begin assembling AirPods in India by early 2025. Here are the key details:

  • Location: The assembly will take place at a new facility near Hyderabad, Telangana, operated by Foxconn Technology Group.
  • Production Start: Full-scale manufacturing is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025, following successful trial runs.
  • Strategic Move: This decision is part of Apple's strategy to diversify its supply chain away from China and reduce reliance on a single manufacturing base.
  • Market Focus: By producing in India, Apple aims to tap into the country's growing consumer electronics market and strengthen its foothold in the region.
  • Incentives: The Indian government offers financial incentives to companies that produce locally, which influenced Apple's decision.

This move aligns with Apple's broader efforts to ensure supply chain resilience amidst global geopolitical and economic shifts. For more, read the full Bloomberg  report.
