According to a new supply chain report, LG Innotek has confirmed that it will mass-produce the camera module to be installed in the iPhone SE4 in December. It is currently conducting tests ahead of mass production.

LG Innotek usually supplies camera modules three months before the release of new smartphone products. Considering this, the release of the iPhone SE4 is likely to be in March next year, as the market has expected.

Apple's iPhone SE series will be released three years after the release of the third generation in 2022. Unlike the flagship, the budget model has been equipped with only a single rear camera. While the previous model received poor reviews for being limited to 12 million pixels, the new product is expected to be equipped with a 48 million pixel camera with significantly improved functions.

Also, while its predecessor was limited to the iPhone 8 form factor, the iPhone SE4 is expected to be in high demand as it will be changed to the iPhone 14 design and will be the first iPhone entry-level product to support the artificial intelligence (AI) function, 'Apple Intelligence.' 

An industry insider said, "Although initial sales of the iPhone 16 series were sluggish, Apple is expected to launch an aggressive year-end promotion to manage its annual performance, so LG Innotek will also see a carryover effect in the fourth quarter," adding, "The supply for the iPhone SE4 will also proceed throughout the fourth quarter, which will be the starting point for a performance rebound."

The camera module for the iPhone SE4 will be produced at a factory in Vietnam. LG Innotek, which has production bases in Gumi, Gyeongbuk, Paju, Gyeonggi-do, and Vietnam, produces products that require high value-added and new technologies in Gumi, and low- to mid-priced products in Vietnam.
