Dan Riccio, Apple's Former SVP of Hardware and a Top Steve Jobs Lieutenant, is nearing Retirement
It's being reported this afternoon that Dan Riccio, Apple's former Senior VP of Hardware Engineering, is nearing retirement after more than 25 years at the company, according to Bloomberg.
Riccio, who played a crucial reole in developing products like the iMac, iPhone, and the iPad handed over his hardware leadership to John Ternus in 2021 to focus on an unspecified "new project," which turned to be Apple Vision Pro.
Touch ID, Face ID and the shift away from Intel processors to Apple's own silicon were significant achievements under Riccio's oversight.
Mark Gurman surmises that Mike Rockwell, who currently runs the Apple Vision Pro team, may start reporting directly to CEO Tim Cook or COO Jeff Williams. For more, read the full Bloomberg report.
