Apple's CEO met with China Mobile to deepen 5G applications & XR immersive content while noting that Apple is working on AI for China
Last Friday, Patently Apple posted a report titled "Apple Customers in Mainland China could now activate Apple Music through Mobile China." Today we're learning that Tim Cook met with China Mobile's top executives on his business trip to China.
According to a new report from IT Home, Both parties stated that they had achieved good results in digital content cooperation in the early stage and jointly launched high-quality products and services based on music and video. They look forward to strengthening cooperation in product and content innovation in the future, and continuously deepening cooperation in 5G special applications such as 5G messaging, 5G new calls, and XR immersive content , to guide customer needs, enhance user experience, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
For a long time, China Mobile and Apple have been actively exploring new directions for cooperation while jointly providing terminal product sales and services to users. As one of the first application products of Apple Vision Pro launched in the Chinese market, "Migu Video Vision Edition" was the first in the world to launch an immersive space viewing experience during the Paris Olympics.
In another report by Jiemian News, Apple's CEO Tim Cook visited Sina headquarters earlier today. A reporter asked Cook when Apple Intelligence might be launched in China. Cook responded: "We are working hard to promote it. There is a very specific regulatory process behind it. We need to go through this process and hope to bring it to Chinese consumers as soon as possible."
A Bloomberg report added that Tim Cook promised to keep investing in China during a meeting with Beijing’s top technology official, underscoring the country’s vital role in the iPhone maker’s global operations.
Cook, making his second visit to the country this year, told China’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong that Apple would “continue to grow its investments in China and help the high-quality development of the supply chain,” according to a ministry post on WeChat.
Jin reportedly urged Cook in their Wednesday meeting to continue investing more in innovation in the country. They talked about Apple’s presence in China, cloud services and the secure management of online data, the agency said, without providing further details.
