Although macOS Sequoia is only launching on September 16, Parallels has released Desktop 20 optimized for Apple’s next generation OS and Windows 11 24H2.

the new version has made a lot of updates for Windows, macOS and Linux virtual machines. The biggest highlight is the newly launched Parallels AI toolkit, which provides secure, downloadable pre-installed virtual machines, allowing you to quickly improve AI development capabilities in an offline environment (the English version of this feature has been released, and the Chinese version will have to wait until the end of September).

In addition, the new version also reduces the use of deprecated APIs, such as CGDisplayStream and CGWindowListCreateImage. These APIs may trigger system warnings, so Parallels has turned to the macOS recommended APIs to ensure security and compliance.

Apple macOS Sequoia also provides the ability to log in to an Apple ID in a macOS virtual machine on an Apple Silicon chip, allowing developers to make full use of the macOS virtual machine to build and test software in an isolated environment.

On the Microsoft side, the optimization of Win11 24H2 ensures that users’ workflow is not interrupted when running old Windows applications (Intel platform). Thanks to the built-in Prism emulator of Windows 11 Arm version, the performance of some computing tasks is improved by up to 80%.

Parallels said that the vast majority of Windows applications can now run well on the Windows 11 Arm version on Apple's M series chips.
