Contrary to Ming-Chi Kuo's assessment of Pre-Orders of the iPhone being down, T-Mobile's CEO sees the Total Opposite
In a Wednesday interview with CNBC’s Jim Cramer, T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert said his company was seeing more sales of the iPhone 16 than last year’s series of the smartphones, contradicting early reports from the likes of Ming-Chi Kuo and others.
Cramer: We have this new iPhone 16 and I listen to these services that tell me hey it's already bad, but I always say let me talk to Mike Sievert. Mike Sievert is the keeper of the data. How poorly is the iPhone 16 selling or is that all nonsense?
Sievert: It's all nonsense. This is another year of great phone introductions. The first week was better than last year. People are buying Pro's, they're buying Maxs, so they're buying up the food chain and buying at a greater rate than last year. What's interesting is we may actually see that this is better than last year to a slightly greater extend because I have a feeling that this cycle will be lengthend a little. You know why? The AI feature don't come out for a little while yet. And so that word of mouth of seeing Apple Intelligence on your phone and then telling other people about it … That's actually still in front of us and will take a few weeks. And so this cycle could actually last a while – but already it's a little bigger than last year.
