Apple updates their AirPower Mat invention + their AirPods Case with a Touch Display that a few competitors have already tried to copy
Today the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially published a couple of continuation patents from Apple relating to their possible future AirPods case with a touch display plus an update to their AirPower charging mat that supposed to be dead.
Graphical User Interfaces For Interactions With A Headphone Case
Apple first revealed a possible future AirPods Case with a Frontside Touch Display back in 2023. Of course Samsung got to work on stealing the idea quickly and had a concept shown at CES 2024 as presented below (Photo from Android Police). Apple is slow in bringing their new ideas to life, allowing competitors to beat them to market as innovators.
Photos found on reddit from headsphoneesty.com shows another Apple concept knock-off as shown below.
Apple's patent FIG. 4C below illustrates physical features of an example of an audio output device case (e.g., wireless headphone case) that includes a touch-sensitive display; FIGS. 5A-B illustrate example user interfaces and device interactions associated with a possible future AirPods case that is configured to perform operations associated with audio output devices, as well as charge and store the audio output devices.
Apple's patent was granted on June 04, 2024 (more patent figures to view there). Today, the U.S. Patent office published an Apple patent update (a continuation patent, precisely), with 18 new patent claims that you can review in patent 2024031107.
Another Apple Patent Update Published Today
An AirPower patent titled "Multi-Device Charging Interface" was published today under patent application 20240313554. Apple added 27 new patent claims to a concept that's supposed to be dead.
