In a new Bloomberg report today we learn that an internal Microsoft memo states that its Chinese employees will "soon" be required to only use Apple devices to verify their identities when using work computers or mobile phones. Starting in September employees will only be able to use iPhones for work, which is equivalent to "excluding Android devices from the workplace ."

The measure is part of Microsoft's global "Secure Future Initiative" and will affect hundreds of employees in mainland China. It aims to ensure that all employees use applications such as Microsoft Authenticator and Identity Pass. This move will affect hundreds of Microsoft employees in mainland China .

The memo stated that Microsoft made this decision because Android phones in China cannot use Google services such as the Play Store. Employees who previously used Android phones (including Huawei, Xiaomi and other devices) will receive an iPhone 15. Microsoft will set up multiple pick-up points across China, including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, to distribute iPhones. Source: IT Home
