This week Apple was granted a series of Apple Vision Pro and Apple Pencil design patents from Hong Kong and Europe
This week Apple was granted nine new Apple Vision Pro design patents that differ from those previously covered (01, 02, 03, 04 and more). Apple has gone to extraordinary lengths to secure every aspect of the Vision Pro Spatial Computing headset design that extends through to visionOS which was granted additional design patents yesterday.
Unlike "patent applications" that provide the public with an abstract, summary and details of an invention, design patents published around the world are limited to only providing the public with design patent figures like those presented below. No additional specifics of the design are made available.
In this new round of design patents for Apple Vision Pro, Apple emphasizes the camera system behind the cover display.
Because Apple's design patents "0002-0008' are variants of the design noted directly above, there was no use presenting examples.
Design Patent: Apple Pencil (USB-C)
Apple introduced Apple Pencil (USB-C) on October 17, 2023. Apple filed for the design patent for this device in Hong Kong on March 20, 2024 and granted on June 07, 2024. There were three Apple Pencil (USB-C) design patens under numbers 2422986.4M001-4M003. The patent figures presented below represent the first design patent in the group that protects the full design. The other two patents (not illustrated) represent various parts of the design that Apple wanted added protection for, with nothing new to add.
Apple filed their design patent under Locarno Classification 14-99 which covers "Styluses for Touch Screens."
Apple Pencil Pro was introduced on May 7, 2024. If logic prevails, we should the design patent for this latest version of Apple Pencil sometime in the Dec23-Jan24 timeline.
