Back in November 2022 Patently Apple posted a report titled “India's Tata Electronics is in Negotiations to Acquire Wistron's iPhone Plant.” Today, Taiwan’s United Daily News has confirmed that the sale of the Wistron plant has been finalized.

Wistron held a board meeting today and passed a resolution to sell the group's Indian subsidiary Wistron InfoComm Manufacturing (India) for US$125 million (approximately NT $ 3.89 billion ) to the Tata Group.

After the transaction is completed, Wistron will withdraw from Apple's supply chain on behalf of Wistron. At the same time, Tata, as a local Indian company, will also be involved in the iPhone assembly business for the first time. The current Wistron plant has as many as 8 iPhone-related production lines.
