The iPhone 15 Pro Max has been tested by DxOMark for its camera capabilities. Apple has introduced a new periscope lens, which enables 5X optical zoom on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The device has received the second-highest score on the DxOMark rankings, just behind the Huawei P60 Pro.

As per DxOMark, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has the best cameras for videography as compared to any other smartphone. The report also reveals that the device has one of the best bokeh for still images on a smartphone camera.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max has received a DxOMark score of 154 points, securing the second-highest score on DxOMark rankings. The device is just 2 points behind the top-rated Huawei P60 Pro, which scored 156 points earlier this year.

Hence, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is currently the highest DxOMark-rated device accessible to the mass audience.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera Review by DxOMark

As per DxOMark, the iPhone 15 Pro Max delivers consistent performance in still images, with true-to-life colors and minimal saturation. The report also says that the device has zero shutter lag (ZSL) which helps to capture sharp images of fast-moving objects.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max produces the best portrait shots, with excellent edge detection and bokeh, as per DxOMark. The device is able to reproduce natural skin tones in portrait shots, even in challenging situations with sharp background lighting.

By default, the iPhone 15 Pro Max captures images in 24MP. However, in low lighting conditions, the device switches to 12MP mode to capture more light. As per DxOMark, Apple has improved texture quality and exposure in low-light shots in the iPhone 15 Pro Max, as compared to its predecessor. It also reports that there is minimal noise in images in dark conditions.

DxOMark says that the autofocus speeds on the iPhone 15 Pro Max are slightly slower than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, in dark light conditions. However, in daylight conditions, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is just as good as other devices, including the Huawei P60 Pro.

The periscope lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max has improved the zoom quality by a huge margin. The noise levels in zoomed-in images have significantly reduced as compared to its predecessor.

As per DxOMark, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has the best smartphone camera for shooting videos. The device is able to retain an excellent dynamic range, with natural colours. The sensor-shift stabilization results in good stability videos and DxOMark says that the video stability on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is among the best in the market.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max now also supports video recording directly on an external SSD. Hence, videographers can now attach an external highspeed drive to the USB-C port of the device, for creating professional-grade videos.

The report also states that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the best camera in terms of user-friendliness, as the auto mode on the device is able to capture the best results on a smartphone. Overall, the iPhone 15 Pro Max delivers a consistent performance across both still images and videos.
