'Better Call Saul' Star Michael Mando has been fired from the Apple Studio's series titled 'Sinking Spring' due a physical fight with co-star
It was announced in August 2022 that Apple TV+ was nearing a series order for a new drama series titled "Sinking Spring" with Brian Tyree Henry starring. Ridley Scott will direct an episode in addition to executive producing. Sinking Spring hails from Apple Studios and is being produced by Scott Free Productions, which has a first-look deal with Apple TV+.
It's now being reported that Michael Mando, better known for his role in 'Better Call Saul,' has been fired from Apple Studios series titled 'Sinking Spring' for a physical fight with an unidentified costar. Producers attempted to smooth things out, and the decision was made to let Mando go from the series and recast the role.
Mando’s role has been recast with Narcos alum Wagner Moura set to take on the part. Moura will reteam with Apple after previously appearing in Shining Girls.
Sinking Spring revolves around longtime Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard.
Mando was poised to play Manny Cespedes, a good-hearted friend of Ray’s (Henry), who he first met when they did time together in the youth authority. That role will now go to Moura. For more, read the full report by The Hollywood Reporter.
