Apple won 44 Patents this week covering a future Vehicle Sunroof System along with a series of Design Patents for iPhone, iPad and more
Yesterday, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially granted Apple 44 patents covering a future sunroof system along with 5 key design patents covering iPhone, iPad and more.
Project Titan: Sunroof+
Yesterday, Apple was granted a Project Titan patent for a sunroof construction along with variable window translucence so that the driver could control the level of light that they want the sunroof to have so as to control brightness in the vehicle. For more details, review the patent US 11541807 B1 titled "Movable Panel Assemblies. This is Apple's second granted patent for this invention. Review the patent link above and go to the patent claims at the bottom of the patent where you could review Apple's 20 new patent claims added to this invention.
In Apple's patent FIG. 3 below you can see a vehicle sunroof in a closed position.
For those closely following Apple's Project Titan vehicle patents, there was another patent filed last Thursday that we didn't cover at the time. Apple patent is titled "Shared Compressor," under number US 20220413523 A1 that you could review here.
Apple's Patent Abstract: "A system includes a source that provides air, a first compressor stage that receives the air from the source and is configured to compress the air to a first pressure, and a second compressor stage that receives the air from the first compressor stage and is configured to compress the air to a second pressure. The system also includes a first component, a second component, valves that control flow of the air, and a controller that is configured to control the valves according to a first control mode, in which the air is supplied to the first component by the first compressor stage, and a second control mode, in which the air is supplied to the second component by the second compressor stage."
Key Granted Design Patents
Apple was granted two iPad design Patents yesterday. The one presented below represents design patent D974354 with photo images of the 2020 iPad Pro. The second design patent D974355 (not shown) illustrated the antenna's for the 2020 iPad Pro.
Apple was also granted two iPhone patents yesterday. The first, noted above, is for the 2019 iPhone 11 under design patent D974352. Below is design patent D974353 covering the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Lastly, Apple was granted a design patent for a "Sign." Unfortunately, Design patents never provide any form of background or detailed information about the design, in this case, a "Sign." Apple filed for this design patent in May 2022. Whether this will be used in the Apple Store or other Apple facility in the future is unknown at this time.
