A week ago, Patently Apple posted a report titled "Apple has reportedly begun the development of a new thin OLED Panel that's Optimal for Folding Devices" The report noted that Apple had begun the development of an OLED panel that doesn’t use a polarizer which would allow them to be made thinner for foldable panels. This type of display was used in the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

This morning, the Twitter site with the Ming-Chi-Kuo branding has posted a new rumor. Kuo states that "Apple is testing E Ink's Electronic Paper Display (EPD) for future foldable device's cover screen & tablet-like applications. The color EPD has the potential to become a mainstream solution for foldable devices' must-have cover/second screen thanks to its excellent power-saving."

Side Note: Hopefully one of these days "Kuo" will have his site Verified by Twitter with the traditional blue seal so that we know for sure that this site represents Ming-Chi Kuo who works or use to work for TF International Securities. Kuo's richly detailed analytical reports are no longer published on the TFI site since at least January 2022. There has been no "official" explanation for his absence. If Kuo is well enough to Tweet, then why is he no longer having his work published on the TFI website as before? Until such time as there is verification of Kuo's Twitter site and word from TFI regarding Kuo's absence, we will conclude each reported Kuo rumor with this side note.
