The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially published a series of 62 newly granted patents for Apple Inc. today. In this particular report we briefly cover a major patent relating to a mixed reality headset plus another drone patent, a collection of design patents and as always, we wrap up this week's granted patent report with our traditional listing of the remaining granted patents that were issued to Apple today.

A Major Mixed Reality Headset Patent

In 2018 Patently Apple covered a few of Apple's most detailed patents regarding their future Mixed Reality Headset devices to date (01, 02, 03 and 04). Today, Apple was granted their second patent relating to an advanced gaze control system for an HMD that also covers a retinal projector, a video processing engine, sensors to acknowledge 3D hand gestures, face gestures and more.

Apple's patent FIG. 1 presented below illustrates an example system environment in which video data captured at a wearable device may be pre-filtered using a multi-layer low pass filter and compressed prior to transmission to a processing engine.

Another Drone Patent

3 Apple drone granted patent

In 2021 Patently Apple posted a report titled "Apple has Won a Patent relating to Drones, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles." We noted in that report that Apple had acquired that patent from Intel. Today, Apple was granted another drone related patent titled "Interference coordination for networks serving aerial vehicles." This too derived from patents acquired from Intel. Intel's Senior Engineer Alexei Davydov is listed as one of the inventors of today's granted patent. For those interested in reviewing this invention, check it out granted patent 11,297,691.
