Taiwan's New Century Optoelectronics has filed a 9-Count Patent Infringement case against Apple

A report from Taiwan today states that LED packaging company New Century Optoelectronics has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against the Taiwan branch of Apple Asia Co., Ltd. For various iPad Pro products, and sought compensation of NT$210 million (US$7.5 million).

 

New Century Optoelectronics pointed out that the various iPad Pro products sold and produced by Apple infringe on the company’s 9 patents, including LED flip-chip packaging, chip-level packaging, Mini LED packaging, and Mini LED backlight modules.

 

For the damage caused by the company’s patent rights, a patent infringement lawsuit has been filed against Apple in Taiwan, requesting Apple to stop the infringement and compensate NT$210 million. The amount may be increased once the court  investigates the number of infringing products.
